Moberly Area Community College sophomore point guard Carnethia Brown signed her National Letter of Intent on Tuesday afternoon at the MACC Activity Center, choosing to continue her academic and athletic career at Alabama A&M University, an NCAA Division I institution located in Huntsville, Alabama.

Brown finished her career at MACC with 620 career points and ranks ninth in career assist average. She was the third leading scorer for a Lady Greyhound squad that finished the season 32-1 and ranked 4th in the nation as she averaged 11.6 points. She also averaged four assists per game, while shooting 43 percent from the field, 33 percent from the three point line, and 64 percent from the free throw line.

"This should be a great opportunity for Carnethia to go in, earn playing time, and help the program at Alabama A&M continue to grow," said MACC head coach Chad Killinger. "She played mostly off the ball, as a scoring guard, before she came here and our goal was to help her develop as a point guard during her time with us. I think she has put in the work to become a solid point guard, while maintaining the natural ability she had to score, which should pay off for her at the next level."

Alabama A&M is a member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference and is coming off an 11-18 season under the direction of second year head coach Margaret Richards, who previously served as an assistant coach at Clemson University and was part of the coaching staff at Western Kentucky University for three seasons, helping the Lady Toppers to two NCAA Tournament appearances during that time.
