Battle of undefeated teams in Missouri-Illinois Classic

In a battle of undefeated teams in the Missouri-Illinois Classic, the MACC Men’s Basketball Team defeated Wabash Valley College 86-58 at St. Louis CC Forest Park. The Greyhounds, now 10-0 on the season,  jumped out to an early 21-13 lead behind pressure defense and early offensive output from PG Jabari Antwine and wing Brandon Better.

Moberly extended the lead to 47-27 at the half. Point guard Anthony McIntosh scored all 14 of his points during the second stanza.  Better led the Greyhounds with 15 points, McIntosh had 14 points, Antwine added 11 points while Leonard Harper-Baker had 10 points and 13 rebounds.  Wabash Valley is now 10-1 on the season.

“A very impressive win over a good Wabash Valley team,” said Coach Patrick Smith, “Two issuesI’d had the past couple of games, even in wins, were the fact we had been below average defensively and not put teams away when we had double figure leads. This game we accomplished both of those goals. It was great to have some practice time to improve our execution.”

Moberly returns to action this Friday in the Highland Community College Tournament which is December 10-11 with three games in two days.  Moberly is the defending champion of the event.
