The MACC Greyhound Men’s Basketball Team suffered their second straight loss as they were defeated 89-80 on the road at Penn Valley. Moberly’s problems started in the first half as they fell behind 49-31 at the half. Moberly cut the lead to 79-72 with three minutes remaining but could get no closer. Brandon Better led MACC in scoring with 27 points, while Mark’Qywell Jackson added 15 points, Jabari Antwine scored 13 points and Delfincko Bogan scored 10. Byrd led Penn Valley in scoring with 31 points while Harris added 22.

Moberly fell to 19-2 on the season, while Penn Valley improved to 16-4 with the victory. “Penn Valley played a tremendous game,” said Coach Patrick Smith, “I thought we came out extremely flat. We played with a lot more intensity in the second half but too little, too late and couldn’t seem to make the key play. However, there’s still a lot of basketball remaining and we’ve got to have productive practice sessions to become the team we need to be. This is by far our toughest stretch of schedule so we’ve got to keep going forward.”

Moberly returns to action on Saturday as they travel to Three Rivers for a 7pm start.
