Loss drops Hounds to 21-3

The Moberly Area Community College Greyhounds went to Ottumwa, Iowa and was defeated by Indian Hills CC 82-67 on Monday evening. Indian Hills jumped out to a 12-0 lead and Moberly never really threatened the remainder of the game as they played from behind. Indian Hills lead 49-31 at the half and eventually stretched lead to 22 points from which the Greyhounds could not recover. Moberly was lead in scoring by Delfincko Bogan with 20 points and Jabari Antwine with 14 points. Indian Hills was lead in scoring by Ivan Aurrecoechea with 20 points and 20 rebounds while Chris McNeal added 17 poins and Tre Hansborough contributed 14 points to the winning cause.

“After two huge wins over Three Rivers on the road and this past weekend over Mineral Area,” said Coach Patrick Smith, “ We just did not play very well last night against a very good Indian Hills squad. The start of the game really set the tone and to be blunt, did not play well in any area of the game. However, it’s a great opportunity for us as a coaching staff to evaluate where we are right now, what changes need to be made and how we can best finish the season off well and get ready for post season. It’s a disappointing loss but it’s a very hard place to win, we can become a better team because of this.”

Moberly, currently ranked #11 in NJCAA, drops to 21-3 with the loss while Indian Hills improves to 21-4 with the victory. MACC returns to action this Friday as they host Culver Stockton JV’s at 7:00 pm.
