Five players scored in double figures and the Moberly Area Community College women's basketball team held the visiting junior varsity team from Missouri Valley scoreless in the first quarter as the Greyhound Women moved to 21-5 on the season.

MACC took a commanding 20-0 lead, after a bit of a slow start on the offensive end of the floor, at the end of one quarter of play and eventually led 40-12 at halftime.

"It was pretty impressive to hold a team scoreless for an entire quarter," said MACC head coach Chad Killinger. "However, we struggled to get things going offensively after spending more time working on our man to man offense on Monday."

The third quarter saw a more even score as the Greyhound Women put 19 points on the board, compared to 17 for Missouri Valley, but a 23-10 fourth quarter allowed MACC to stretch their lead to the final 82-39 margin.

"We talked about not taking a casual approach to the second half during halftime," said Killinger. "But, sometimes that is easier said than done when you have a large lead."

Carnethia Brown led the Greyhound Women with 16 points, knocking down three of her six three point attempts. Brianna Perry scored 12 points and had three steals. Anisha George scored 12 points, while recording six rebounds, five blocked shots, and three steals. Shauna Rinehart added 11 points, including a pair of three point field goals.

Romekia Wallace came up just short of a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds. She also added five assists. Anna Stewart and Angelica Wiggins scored eight points apiece. Stewart had a team high six assists and five rebounds, while Wiggins had a team high four steals.

Alexis Henry had a career high seven rebounds as she filled in at the forward position with two players out due to injury or illness.

"We have been having Lex rotate into that spot in practice just in case of an emergency and she did a good job for us tonight," said Killinger. "We should be closer to full strength by the time we practice on Thursday and, for sure, heading into next week as we begin to prepare for the final four game stretch before tournament play begins."
