The Moberly Area Community College Lady Greyhounds held Three Rivers Community College to 25 points below their home scoring average and connected on 10 of 20 three point attempts as they defeated the Lady Raiders 76-63 in Poplar Bluff on Saturday night.

MACC trailed 7-6 two minutes into the game before a 15-0 run allowed them to take a 14 point lead and they held a 23-13 advantage after one quarter of play.

Foul trouble and inefficient offense plagued the Lady Greyhounds in the second quarter as Three Rivers outscored MACC 21-11 to tie the score at 34 apiece heading into halftime.

A three point field goal by Carnethia Brown, who scored 18 points in the first half, gave the Lady Greyhounds a 46-42 lead near the three minute mark of the third quarter and MACC extended their lead back to double digits before the end of the quarter.

Three Rivers eventually got to within four points as the Lady Greyhounds led 55-51, but a 13-0 run gave MACC a commanding 17 point lead with just four minutes left to play as they returned home with their 22nd consecutive victory. The Lady Greyhounds are now 7-0 in MCCAC play and have posted a 5-0 mark in Region 16 action.

"Outside of the second quarter we played pretty well," said MACC head coach Chad Killinger. "I thought our foul trouble forced us to leave some people on the floor for too long a stretch during that time, but I was proud of how we answered their runs and never gave up the lead in the second half."

Brown led MACC with 23 points as she knocked down four three point field goals. She also had four steals. Anisha George reached double figures with 12 points. Brianna Perry added 11 points. Angelica Wiggins scored nine points, while also recording five rebounds. Jocelyn Taylor finished with eight points, four rebounds and four assists.

MACC will host Crowder College in a pivotal Region 16 contest on Wednesday night. The Lady Roughriders come into the game with a 16-6 overall record and are 3-1 in Region 16. Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m.
