Five players reached double figures for the 6th ranked Moberly Area Community College Lady Greyhounds as they won 91-51 against the J.V. squad from Missouri Valley College last night.

MACC jumped out to a 21-10 advantage after one quarter of play and led 44-21 at halftime behind 11 first half points from Angelica Wiggins.

The Lady Greyhounds held Missouri Valley to just seven points in the third quarter as they extended their lead to 36, 64-28, heading into the final quarter of play.

"I was pleased with our defensive effort through the first three quarters," said MACC head coach Chad Killinger. "We let their best shooter get too comfortable in the fourth quarter, so that is something that we can work on correcting moving forward."

Anisha George led MACC with 21 points, while Wiggins finished with 17 points and four steals. Sentreal Gregory netted 13 points. Jocelyn Taylor came off the bench to contribute 12 points and three steals.

Alexis Henry had 10 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists, and four steals as she recorded her first double-double of the season. Brianna Perry scored seven points and added six rebounds and five assists. Lunden Henry had six points, while Allisyn Rhone with three and Chrishey Wilkes with two rounded at the scoring for the Lady Greyhounds.

"Our ball movement and the pace at which we played offensively was pretty good all night," said Killinger. "I thought we did a nice job of playing inside-out, playing to our strengths, and understanding how we needed to attack."

The game with Missouri Valley was used as a continuation of the annual "Shooting for a Cure" event that Killinger and his program host to raise money for the Randolph County Relay for Life as MACC wore pink socks and pink shooting shirts for the contest. The original game, scheduled for Wednesday night was postponed due to travel issues for Arkansas Baptist.

"It was unfortunate that we didn't get to play on Wednesday," said Killinger. "However, we were still able to hold our raffle and sell shirts during the men's game and we will continue to sell the shirts over the next few weeks."

Trinity United Methodist Church served as a sponsor for the event for the second consecutive year.

"I can't thank Trinity and Pastor Nix enough for their involvement," said Killinger. "As well as everyone that purchased raffle tickets or t-shirts. This is an event that means a lot to me, personally, and I'm glad that the money raised is used to help local families."
