A 74-51 victory over visiting State Fair Community College on Saturday night allowed the 5th ranked Moberly Area Community College Lady Greyhounds to clinch their first Missouri Community College Athletic Conference championship, in just their second season of competing in the league, and equaled a school record as they won their 27th straight game.

"Outside of just trying to win our next game there was a lot of motivation coming into this one," said MACC head coach Chad Killinger. "We had a chance to accomplish several things, including getting our sophomores their 50th win. Prior to the game we talked about what a tremendous opportunity it was and I'm proud of the effort our team put together."

State Fair took a 12-11 lead a little less than midway through the first quarter and the score was tied at 15 before the Lady Greyhounds seized control of the game.

MACC got a basket from Alexis Henry and a three point field goal from Brianna Perry to jump start a 9-0 run to end the first period of play as they led 24-15.

The second quarter began with eight straight points from the Lady Greyhounds as they completed what became a 17-0 run to extend their lead to 32-15 with just less than five minutes remaining in the half. MACC eventually led by 20, 40-20, at the halftime break as they shot over 50 percent from the field and outrebounded the Lady Roadrunners 28-12 over the first 20 minutes of action.

Alexis Henry scored six of MACC's first 11 points of the second half as they stretched their advantage to 31, 56-25, with four minutes left in the third quarter. The Lady Greyhounds would go on to lead 62-29 heading into the final quarter of play as they limited State Fair to just 14 points over the second and third quarters.

MACC led by as many as 37 points in the fourth quarter before State Fair put together a 13-0 run. But, that wasn't enough as the Lady Greyhounds would go on to complete the regular season sweep of the Lady Roadrunners.

"We played pretty well on both ends of the floor for about 32 minutes," said Killinger. "We didn't finish the game the way I would have liked, but State Fair has some talented players and they were able to put together a really good stretch against us."

Anisha George recorded her 11th double-double of the season with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Angelica Wiggins also had 15 points to share team high honors with George.

Jocelyn Taylor had her first double-double of the season as she totaled 14 points and 10 rebounds, while adding five assists to her stat line. Alexis Henry rounded out the double figure scorers for MACC with 12 points. She also finished with 6 rebounds and four assists.

Sentreal Gregory had seven points and six assists. Lunden Henry netted six points and grabbed six rebounds.

The Lady Greyhounds shot 47 percent from the field and held State Fair to 32 percent shooting. MACC outrebound the Lady Roadrunners 47-29.
