MACC Greyhound Baseball 2025 Season Recap
The MACC Greyhound Baseball team capped off a strong 2025 season with a 25-24 record and a runner-up finish at the Region 16 Tournament, marking a notable improvement from last year's 19-win campaign. The team's continued development was evident throughout the season, with both individual accolades and team achievements underscoring a year of growth and determination.
Leading the charge were standout performers Jake Stedman (FR) – Shortstop and Ian Junkin (FR) - RHP, who earned First Team All-Region honors for their consistent excellence on the field. They were joined by Second Team All-Region selections AJ Lucas (FR) IF, Owen Larrigan (FR) IF, and Max Guenther (FR) OF, Sam Bespoyasny (SO) RHP, who each played pivotal roles in the team's success.
The Greyhounds also showed their defensive prowess, with three players earning Gold Glove awards:
- Peyton Braile (Catcher)
- Owen Larrigan (First Base)
- Max Guenther (Outfield)
These honors highlight the team's commitment to playing high-level, fundamentally sound baseball.
Perhaps most impressively, 13 players from this year's squad are moving on to continue their academic and athletic careers at the four-year level—a testament to the program's ability to develop talent and prepare student-athletes for the next stage.
Comments from Coach Fletcher, "As we fell short in the tournament championship game this season, we cannot overlook our growth and improvement. We played ¾ lineup of freshmen this season, battled a tricky spring with weather and a few injuries. I'm proud of the way this team handled that and pressed on for a solid year. We lose some key sophomores but I'm excited for this group that is returning. We have also signed a great freshmen class to come help fill in the pieces we will lose. We are looking forward to building on this year for next season."
Be on look out this summer for a fall schedule to catch the Hounds on the diamond once again.
