MACC GREYHOUNDS DEFEAT JOHN A. LOGAN AND OLNEY CENTRAL

#15 Greyhounds improve to 11–1 on the season

The No. 15 nationally ranked Moberly Area Community College men's basketball team improved its record to 11–1 with weekend victories over Olney Central College and John A. Logan College.

Against Olney Central, Moberly jumped out to a 40–24 halftime lead and went on to earn a 78–56 win. Lavonta Ivery led the Greyhounds in scoring with 22 points, while Caleb Estes added 12 points. Dalton Hicks contributed nine points and nine rebounds as MACC collected 18 offensive rebounds.

On Sunday at the St. Louis CC Shootout, Moberly faced preseason top-20 John A. Logan and trailed 58–50 with 10 minutes remaining. The Greyhounds responded with a 12–2 run and secured an 80–79 victory to earn their sixth straight win. Ivery led Moberly in scoring with a career-high 34 points (17 of 20 from the free-throw line), while 6'5" freshman forward Shaunassey Hatchett added 15 points and nine rebounds.

 

The MACC men's squad will close out the semester by competing in the Highland CC (IL) William Baer Christmas Tournament on Dec. 12–13, an eight-team tournament held in Freeport, Illinois.
