Greyhounds Earn Three Spots on All-Region 16 Team
Three members of the Greyhound Women's Basketball team have been recognized for their consistent performances this season, earning All-Region 16 honors following a year defined by growth, grit, and determination.
Leading the way is freshman forward Nilla Wills, who was named to the All-Region 16 First Team. The Chicago, Illinois native made an immediate impact in her first collegiate season, averaging 12.6 points and 9.5 rebounds per game, establishing herself as a consistent force on both ends of the floor.
Joining her in the postseason honors are freshman guards Abygail Thivierge and Alexie Nicolas, who were both selected to the All-Region 16 Second Team. The duo played a key role in the Greyhounds' backcourt, bringing energy, playmaking, and defensive intensity throughout the season.
The recognition highlights not only individual excellence, but also the collective progress of a young Greyhound squad.
Head Coach Chevis Thompson praised his team's commitment and development over the course of the season.
"I'm incredibly proud of Nilla, Abygail, and Alexie for earning this recognition," Thompson said. "This is a reflection of the work they've put in every day. For such a young team, they showed tremendous growth, resilience, and a willingness to compete all season long."
With multiple freshmen earning all-region honors, the Greyhounds have built a strong foundation for the future—one that continues to take shape through hard work and a shared commitment to improvement.
As the program looks ahead, this year's accolades serve as both a milestone and a motivator for what's to come.
